31st Annual CMHDS Charity Classic and Dinner Review & Pictures
CMHDS members and guests found themselves golfing on the nicest day of the year (so far) at the Delta Golf Club on Thursday June 6, 2013. In addition to having a great time and voting in the next season’s Board of Directors members also raised $1700.00 for Canuck Place Children’s Hospice.

Mar 7th – Safety Culture: The Home Depot Perspective

Join us for breakfast on Thursday March 7th, 2013 when we welcome Denesh Maharajh, the Environmental, Health & Safety Manager for Home Depot Canada who will be speaking about “Safety Culture, the Home Depot Perspective”.
Safety Culture which relates to a full range of safety critical behaviors from the wearing of PPE (or not), the quality of delivery of a tool box talk – or the seriousness with which safety is discussed at a high level meeting has also been described simply as “the way we typically do things around here”.

Feb 12th, 2013 – Gordon Food Services Tour

Located on Annacis Island in Delta, BC the 350,000 sq.ft. facility employs over 850 people and has a storage capacity of 40,000 pallets. One of the main focal points for the tour will be how GFS has increased the accuracy of their scan/pick selection process though the implementation of a mobile bar code technology called Gladiators (pictured left).

The 420,000 sq.ft. facility located in the Tilbury Industrial Park is the third party (3PL) distributor for the Home Depot stores across Western Canada which average more than 100,000 square feet and stock as many as 40,000 home improvement products, tailored to the communities they serve.

Oct 25, 2012 – NAOSH Week Awards Luncheon
The NAOSH Week Steering Committee and the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering will host an annual Safety Forum and Awards Luncheon to recognize Winners, Honourable Mentions, and Participants of the NAOSH Week competition held May 2012.
Based on last year’s attendance, they are expecting approximately 200 people to attend the luncheon including NAOSH Week winners and sponsors, CSSE members, students and instructors from the Occupational Health and Safety Diploma program, as well as many other health and safety professionals. There will also be a golf tournament held after the luncheon.
