Purolator Facilities Tour – Tuesday Sept 14th

Purolator, Canada’s largest integrated distribution services provider with a full suite of international freight forwarding, logistics, LTL and courier services will be graciously opening there doors to SCL members and guests.

The tour will be structured to follow a global supply chain move from emptying of an ocean container of consumer goods through to sorting and induction into the air and ground transport network for delivery to consumers.

2010 Annual Golf Tournament, Dinner & AGM – Friday June 18th

Join us on Friday June 18th for the 2010 CMHDS Golf Tournament, Dinner & Annual General Meeting at the Delta Golf Club.  This event is an opportunity for members to spend a day in the sun, enjoy some golf, some friends and some food. We will also be holding the CMHDS Annual General Meeting where we will review the events of the year and elect the new Board of Directors for the 2010-2011 season.

June 1st – Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) DC Tour

Join us on Tuesday June 1st at 3:00pm as we tour the Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) Distribution Centre in Vancouver, BC.

One of two distribution centres (the second is located in Kamloops) the Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is one of the two governmental bodies responsible for regulating and monitoring the liquor industry in British Columbia, the other being the Liquor Control and Licensing Branch (LCLB)).

The LDB is the only organization allowed to purchase, import, and distribute alcoholic beverages in British Columbia. They employ more than 3,500 people, and operate 215 government liquor stores under the BC Liquor Stores name, found all across the province.

Feb 3rd – Lucerne Foods Milk Plant Tour

Join us on Wednesday February 3rd as we tour the Lucerne Foods Milk Plant in Burnaby, BC. This 75,000 sq.ft. facility is one of three state of the art facilities located in Western Canada that make up Lucerne’s Dairy Division.

The Burnaby facility which recently implemented a 5S & Lean Principles program produces approximately 850,000 litres of product per week and stores and ships 94 SKU’s plus seasonal products to 71 Safeway stores and various independent accounts.. Tour attendees will see an operation that not only receives raw product, then processes, packages, stores and ships but also deals with the added complexities of a product that is liquid and time & temperature sensitive requiring special handling and fast inventory turns.

Oct 29th – CMHDS UAP/NAPA Tour

Join us on Thursday October 29th as we tour the UAP/NAPA Vancouver Distribution Centre in Langley, BC. This facility is one of 58 Distribution Centres supporting the 5800 NAPA Auto Stores throughout North America so join us and see how this Atlanta based giant handles distributing auto parts.

We have arranged for two tours (3:00pm and 5:30pm) which are limited to 15 people for each tour (30 people in total). Due to this REGISTRATION IS LIMITED TO CMHDS MEMBERS ONLY.
