June 7th – 29th Annual CMHDS Charity Classic Golf Tournament & Dinner

Join us on Tuesday June 7th for the 29th Annual CMHDS Charity Classic Golf Tournament & Dinner at the Coyote Creek Golf Club. This event is an opportunity to spend a day in the sun, enjoy some golf, some friends and some food.
We will also be holding the CMHDS Annual General Meeting where we will review the events of the year and elect the new Board of Directors for the 2011-2012 season. Not much of a golfer? Then come out for the AGM (free, of course) or just for dinner.
Also this year net proceeds from the event will be donated to Canuck Place Children’s Hospice. In addition to coming out for the day, sponsor a hole or make a donation and get some “Mulligan’s” to help improve your score!
June 25th – 14th Annual BC Championship Forklift Rally

Join us on Saturday June 25th, 2011 at the Cloverdale Agriplex for the 14th Annual BC Championship Forklift Rally. Last years event drew almost 90 competitors and had 500 people in attendance. We are pulling out all the stops this year to make sure the 2011 Forklift Rally eclipses all previous competitor & attendee numbers.

April 27th – Atlas Logistics Tour

Join us on Wednesday April 27th as we tour the Atlas Logistics Distribution Centre in Surrey, BC.
Located on 73 acres in South Surrey, Atlas Logistics (a division of VersaCold) is a 408,000 sq.ft. facility which distributes perishable and frozen products, shipping over 650,000 cases per week to 87 stores, some as far away as Prince Rupert.
The facility which employees a staff of over 250 people uses RF controlled WMS Voice Picking, RF directed put-away and replenishment and RF directed loading via truck mounted terminals. Equipment includes 75 Triple Pallet Jacks, 50 Reach Trucks and 40 Dock Stockers.
March 30th – Steels Industrial Products Distribution Centre Tour
Join us on Wednesday March 30th, 2011 as we tour the Steels Industrial Products Distribution Centre in Surrey, BC.
Established in 1955 Steels provides insulation, roofing, masonry and log homes supplies, equipment and materials to contractors, developers and architects throughout their nine locations across BC & Alberta.
Jan 27th – Coast Paper Tour
Join us on Thursday January 27th at 4:15pm as we kick off 2011 with a tour of the Coast Paper Distribution Facility in Vancouver, BC.
Located in South Vancouver on the banks of the Fraser River, the 100,000 sq.ft. Vancouver facility is one of Coast Paper’s eight facilities in Canada (Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg, Toronto and Montreal). The Vancouver facility handles a Diversified Product Portfolio including Fine Paper, Graphic Arts Supplies, Wide Format, Software Support Programs and Industrial Packaging and in addition to bulk distribution, the facility also has an outlet store for smaller customers.
Originally founded in Vancouver in 1941 Coast Paper is now part of the PaperLinx group of companies headquartered in Melbourne, Australia which has 6700 employees worldwide and operations in Australia, Asia, Europe and North America.
Nov 18th – Brewer’s Distributor Tour
Brewers’ Distributors “The Premiere Distributor Of Beer In Western Canada”
Join us on Thursday November 18th as we tour Brewer’s Distributors in Port Coquitlam, BC.
Brewers’ Distributor Ltd. or BDL is a private joint venture company owned by Labatt Breweries of Canada and Molson Breweries for the wholesale distribution of beer and the collection of returnable, refillable and recyclable beer containers within the four Western Canadian Provinces, as well as Northwest Territories and the Yukon.
Dec 6th – SCL Holiday Networking 2010
An annual tradition and the most anticipated SCL social event of the year! Get to know your industry peers in a casual setting over an hor d’oeuvre and a cocktail.
Light appetizers and a cash bar will be available, but enjoy one drink courtesy of SCL.
This event is complimentary for SCL members. CMHDS members pay a nominal fee ($20) to attend.
Oct 7th – Tour of Domaine de Chaberton Winery
Join us on Thursday October 7th as we kick of the CMHDS 2010-2011 Season with a tour of the Domaine de Chaberton Winery in Langley.
Domaine de Chaberton Estate Winery is located on 55 acres amongst the rolling hills of south Langley, British Columbia just 45 minutes from Vancouver, B.C. and is the largest and oldest winery in the Fraser Valley. Members will get a tour of this facility and see how the product progresses from vine to bottle. The tour will also include a wine tasting of some of Domaine de Chaberton’s award winning wines.
Oct 18th – SCL Dinner Meeting – From Grape to Table: The Wine Supply Chain
The fastest growing alcoholic beverage segment is wine sourced both domestically and imported. Our expert panel of professional logisticians who manage the wine supply chain will discuss their role in insuring that wine moves to consumers from vineyards around the world and in Canada to consumers in British Columbia safely and efficiently.
