Jan 27th – Coast Paper Tour
Join us on Thursday January 27th at 4:15pm as we kick off 2011 with a tour of the Coast Paper Distribution Facility in Vancouver, BC.
Located in South Vancouver on the banks of the Fraser River, the 100,000 sq.ft. Vancouver facility is one of Coast Paper’s eight facilities in Canada (Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg, Toronto and Montreal). The Vancouver facility handles a Diversified Product Portfolio including Fine Paper, Graphic Arts Supplies, Wide Format, Software Support Programs and Industrial Packaging and in addition to bulk distribution, the facility also has an outlet store for smaller customers.
Originally founded in Vancouver in 1941 Coast Paper is now part of the PaperLinx group of companies headquartered in Melbourne, Australia which has 6700 employees worldwide and operations in Australia, Asia, Europe and North America.

Brewers’ Distributors “The Premiere Distributor Of Beer In Western Canada”
Join us on Thursday November 18th as we tour Brewer’s Distributors in Port Coquitlam, BC.
Brewers’ Distributor Ltd. or BDL is a private joint venture company owned by Labatt Breweries of Canada and Molson Breweries for the wholesale distribution of beer and the collection of returnable, refillable and recyclable beer containers within the four Western Canadian Provinces, as well as Northwest Territories and the Yukon.
Dec 6th – SCL Holiday Networking 2010
An annual tradition and the most anticipated SCL social event of the year! Get to know your industry peers in a casual setting over an hor d’oeuvre and a cocktail.
Light appetizers and a cash bar will be available, but enjoy one drink courtesy of SCL.
This event is complimentary for SCL members. CMHDS members pay a nominal fee ($20) to attend.
Oct 7th – Tour of Domaine de Chaberton Winery
Join us on Thursday October 7th as we kick of the CMHDS 2010-2011 Season with a tour of the Domaine de Chaberton Winery in Langley.
Domaine de Chaberton Estate Winery is located on 55 acres amongst the rolling hills of south Langley, British Columbia just 45 minutes from Vancouver, B.C. and is the largest and oldest winery in the Fraser Valley. Members will get a tour of this facility and see how the product progresses from vine to bottle. The tour will also include a wine tasting of some of Domaine de Chaberton’s award winning wines.
Oct 18th – SCL Dinner Meeting – From Grape to Table: The Wine Supply Chain
The fastest growing alcoholic beverage segment is wine sourced both domestically and imported. Our expert panel of professional logisticians who manage the wine supply chain will discuss their role in insuring that wine moves to consumers from vineyards around the world and in Canada to consumers in British Columbia safely and efficiently.

Purolator Facilities Tour – Tuesday Sept 14th
Purolator, Canada’s largest integrated distribution services provider with a full suite of international freight forwarding, logistics, LTL and courier services will be graciously opening there doors to SCL members and guests.
The tour will be structured to follow a global supply chain move from emptying of an ocean container of consumer goods through to sorting and induction into the air and ground transport network for delivery to consumers.
2010 Annual Golf Tournament, Dinner & AGM – Friday June 18th

Join us on Friday June 18th for the 2010 CMHDS Golf Tournament, Dinner & Annual General Meeting at the Delta Golf Club. This event is an opportunity for members to spend a day in the sun, enjoy some golf, some friends and some food. We will also be holding the CMHDS Annual General Meeting where we will review the events of the year and elect the new Board of Directors for the 2010-2011 season.
June 1st – Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) DC Tour

Join us on Tuesday June 1st at 3:00pm as we tour the Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) Distribution Centre in Vancouver, BC.
One of two distribution centres (the second is located in Kamloops) the Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is one of the two governmental bodies responsible for regulating and monitoring the liquor industry in British Columbia, the other being the Liquor Control and Licensing Branch (LCLB)).
The LDB is the only organization allowed to purchase, import, and distribute alcoholic beverages in British Columbia. They employ more than 3,500 people, and operate 215 government liquor stores under the BC Liquor Stores name, found all across the province.
13th Annual Forklift Rally Knocks It Out Of The Park!
It was Saturday May 1st, 2010 and with almost 90 competitors and 500 people in attendance many said the 13th Annual BC Championship Forklift Rally felt like an all day party!
